First Collage October 24, 1999
This was my first collage. I never considered myself to be an artist - I did spreadsheets and powerpoint. My sister could draw and paint - she was the artist.
I waited until the evening of the Chicago Marathon to do my first collage because I knew that I would be too tired to whine and complain about doing it - and so this is it. I loved how it turned out - I was shocked that I could produce this. It still amazes me. Hope you like it too.

This next series of three - I collaged a colleague away.
I am a very patient person, but at work I was working with the devil incarnate. He occurred to me as so condescending, un-helpful, and confrontational. I collaged "him" three times and poof! in the middle of the project he moves out of state into another area of the country!

I started "electronic" collaging when I am in the airport lounge. There is something therapeutic about flipping through the magazines - I take picture of them with my IPAD and then pop them into a collage app and then play with the images. I still prefer my exacto and glue stick, but on the road, this works like a charm!
Marjie Parrot 2008 11 30
I made this collage for Marjie in 2008 when she first talked of "retirement" - or some similar occasion. As I look at it today, like the butterfly, she transforms into something new as she enters this new stage called "retirement". Can't wait to see what happens next for her!
Marjie, words can't express the difference you have made in my life, which allows me to make a difference for others. Thank you.
